Clinical Music Therapy & Music Programming

Berkshire Music Therapy serves all ages and abilities. Based on your needs, the needs of your loved one, and/or the needs of your family, we will work with you to create an individualized music therapy plan to identify strengths and preferences, target specific goals, and track progress. Berkshire Music Therapy offers mobile music therapy services in your home or in your facility. We also offer virtual music therapy services in a telehealth format.

Individual Music Therapy

Individual sessions are ideal for those who would respond best to customized music experiences designed to meet specific needs. One-on-one music therapy sessions focus on your unique strengths, preferences, and needs in a safe and individualized environment.

Family Music Therapy

Music therapy in this context focuses on the family unit as a whole. Family music therapy is ideal for families who seek to build deeper connections, discover new possibilities, and grow together through playful and engaging music-based experiences.

Adapted Instrument Instruction

Adapted instrument instruction is ideal for those wanting to develop a meaningful leisure skill. We provide an array of creative approaches to help you or your loved one learn to sing or play an instrument, incorporating visual supports, color-coding, movement, and technology. We currently offer adapted instruction for voice, guitar, and piano.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Music therapists work in collaboration with other health professionals to provide supportive services in a variety of facilities. These facilities might include schools, hospitals, hospice programs, day programs, psychiatric centers, drug and alcohol treatment centers, shelters, and senior centers. We will collaborate with your organization to create a unique plan for music therapy and music programming that will best meet the needs of the individuals and/or groups that you serve.

In-services

Is your team or organization interested in learning more about music therapy and how it might be of benefit for the individuals you serve? Berkshire Music Therapy offers in-service opportunities to provide training, research, and resources through presentations that are tailored specifically to your team’s learning needs.

For students

Berkshire Music Therapy believes in the importance of educating the next generation of music therapists. We offer educational opportunities for students in high school and at the university level. We invite high school students to connect with us to discuss shadow experiences and if music therapy might be the career for you. If you are a university student or a professor, we invite you to connect with us to discuss possible practicum and fieldwork experiences and supervision.
